It is written," ye shall eat no thing with the blood; neither shall ye use enchantment nor observe times [footnote says astrology]. . . ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print marks upon you. I AM THE LORD. Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. Ye shall keep MY Sabbaths and reverence MY sanctuary. I AM THE LORD. Regard not them that have familiar spirits [witchcraft] neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them; I AM THE LORD." [Leviticus 19:26,27-31]

The Old Testament, particularly Leviticus writes much about Holiness and cleanness in GOD's eyes and how to achieve that. This passage reiterates GOD's frequent warning not to ever eat the blood of anything.  I am a Registered Nurse and in the process of gaining that knowledge had to study microbiology and witness an autopsy. Those who have done either of those things, has witnessed in some way the devastating ravages of disease and it is a very troubling picture indeed. What you may not know is that blood, whether human or animal, is an excellent culture for bacteria and viruses. I am certain that GOD in HIS wisdom knew that when HE told us not to ever eat blood. It is for the well-being and good health of each person. If you don't ingest what could be potentially contaminated with viruses such as HIV, or animal viruses, or bacteria such as staph, or strep, or any of the hundreds of bacteria that when out of the place designed for it,causes death, then you will be healthier.

As for the cuttings verse, it says in the footnote, "tattoos". GOD tells us not to tattoo ourselves in any way. That is also a very practical thing because it causes many piercings of the skin and the skin is designed by GOD AlMIGHTY to protect you from disease. A tattoo parlor is not an operating room and their concept of sterile equipment and what a Surgeon would consider sterile equipment are world's apart. Don't take the risk. That verse about not prostituting your daughter is particularly relevant in the society of the US, where being immoral is taught in the schools, and where there is practically a "Fornication 101" college class that teaches all manner of ungodly ways of "hooking up" it is called. They don't even pretend that the goal is to get married but just use and discard each other as cast off things. It is very sad and it is has to change.

Someone has to begin the debate on how we, as a nation, turn back to righteousness,and teach our children and grandchildren, righteousness.  GOD repeatedly tells us to teach our children HIS Commandments and laws,and wisdom. I am hoping that this blog as well as other blogs and works of mine, will help that cause.
